Before you call us you may like to check th following.

If when stowing the ladder it suddenly doesn't want to go all the way up, it's possible something you've just put up in the loft is in the way (sounds silly, but it's often the problem)

If after closing the hatch it seems to be hanging down slightly and not fully closed, It's possible you pulled down as you turned the catch and the metal catch plate is bent slightly. This isn't actually a fault it's a design feature. Because strangers (often a friend) sometimes try to open the hatch by simply pulling it down, to avoid breaking anything the catch plate is designed to bend fairly easily. If this is the problem the plate may be straightened and all will be well.
